Student Confirmation

When did you first make your faith your own?

This past Sunday we celebrated with four students who affirmed their faith publicly through Confirmation, a milestone event for students that usually takes place in 7th or 8th grade.

Confirmation is a time when students commit themselves to digging into what the Bible teaches and what it means for their life. This process at Epic takes place over the course of a school year, through classes and discussions with Pastor John. We talk about what church membership means and why its important to know what your church believes and teaches about God’s Word. The year culminates with a celebration on Confirmation Sunday!

We celebrate the commitment these students have made over the past year, but even more, we celebrate the building of faith and knowledge about God over MANY years in their lives. We thank God for families where God’s love is taught by both word and example, and we thank God for a church community who has prayed for, instructed, supported, and molded these students into the young people they are today.

If you are a part of the Epic community, we encourage you to pray for Levi, Isaac, Dante, and Zoe and thank God for them! And as the church community, let’s also pray that we will continue to show God’s love to each other, hold each other up in faith, and daily recommit ourselves to walking with God.

Each Confirmation student chose a Bible verse that is meaningful to them to commemorate their Confirmation Day. Read them below!

Levi

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11

Isaac

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
John 8:12

Dante

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:21

Zoe

But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.
James 2:18
