Our 4th Annual Strikes for Serve Local fundraiser was a wild success! Over 160 people gathered to support a great cause. We ate pizza. We threw strikes (and gutterballs). We met new friends and reconnected with old ones. Best of all, together, we raised over $6000 to feed local families struggling with food insecurity.
ServeLocal provides groceries through a grass-roots local effort planted in the hearts of the people of Epic Church. We offer a no-questions-asked drive-thru food pantry to families in our immediate community. Month after month we see the evidence of gratitude through smiles of tired single parents, grandparents caring for grandchildren, and families facing health challenges and unemployment. Food insecurity can touch just about anyone, and sometimes the most important thing we can do when someone is struggling is to simply show we care by meeting a need. A bag of groceries will run out in a few days, but knowing you are seen and loved sticks around forever.
Thank you to everyone who came to support this ministry and love your neighbor through radical generosity.
