The fire was crackling on a perfect fall evening, and music filled the air. Greetings exchanged between old friends while smiles and names passed among new friends and neighbors. Some grown adults had the first s’more they’ve eaten in decades and found out that they were messier than they remembered. People warmed their hands with a cup of cider and couldn’t pass up a cinnamon donut. Kids munched on popcorn and played tag in the dark.
Everyone took a quiet moment to listen to some words of encouragement from Pastor John. He reminded those gathered to set their focus on the heart. Don’t give too much importance to what everyone else says about you; the only thing that really matters is what God says about you.
“God doesn’t see you the same way everyone else does. God sees your heart.”
It may have been a bit chilly as we headed home, but our hearts were warm. Thank you to the Worship Team and all the other helpers for a beautiful evening of worship!
