A New Focus

Epic Church 2023 In Review

A Vision for Our Neighbors

At Epic Church, we believe we are called to be spiritual contributors and not spiritual consumers. We believe the church doesn’t exist for us. We are the church and we exist for the world. This year, we set out on a 3-year vision to see God transform 50 neighbors into 50 disciples of Jesus through Epic. In order to do this, we began with prayer. A Vision Sunday, a prayer walk through the neighborhood around Epic, a vision-focused Worship & Prayer night, a re-launch of Step Out Sundays in nearby Dequindre Estates, and personally delivering a Christmas gift to 46 neighbors were all part of the first steps of this vision. More is to come as we pray for God to work!

Serving Our Neighborhood

Epic is a church marked by compassion and generosity. We set a big goal for Gifts for All God’s Children, and you responded! You donated 276 gifts to provide 46 children with an extra special Christmas morning!

ServeLocal continues to expand its impact. In 2023, you helped provide more than 30,000 pounds of food to individuals and families in our community. Your donations and willingness to volunteer your time enabled ServeLocal to add an evening pantry each month. Our Strikes for ServeLocal bowling fundraiser wasn’t only a lot of fun. Your participation helped raise an additional $8,000, which proved critical in the midst of rising food costs and increased needs in the community.

Building Community

We believe God created us to thrive in community relationships. We intentionally sought opportunities to gather in community. In 2023, we competed in the Epic Olympics, gathered for Ultimate Frisbee, doubled the size of our Bible Quizzing program, expanded the opportunities for classes, shared a pancake breakfast in our pajamas, and lifted up one another’s needs in prayer.

God is writing a great story at Epic.

Thank you for being part of it!
